1. The brief history of the aboriginal people was that when European explorers founded Australia they didn’t know that it was already claimed by the aboriginals that had been there for tens of thousands of years. The aboriginals came from very different classifications like “heavy-boned “people were called “robust” and they went to Australia 70,000 years ago. And the “smaller boned” people were called “gracile” and traveled to Australia 50,000 years ago. These people came from South-East Asia and walked across to Australia. (The water level was 50 meters less than it is today). The aboriginals that lived on the coast ate fruit, roots, small animals, reptiles, fish and shell fish. While the aboriginals that lived in the desert ate insects, birds, reptiles and mammals. The aboriginals are natives to Australia and have lived there for approximately 35,000-70,000 years. On record there are about 500 different tribes associated with the aboriginals. The men of the tribes were tool- makers and hunters. The women cooked, and took care of the children. When the British settlers landed on Australia they brought with them many diseased including, small pox, measles, and influenza. They cut down forests and brought foreign animals. The animals took up all the aborigines’ resources. The settlers and the aborigines fought over the land and water.

2. The negative things the white Australians did to the aboriginals were that they restricted the aborigines for owning land. They brought animals to destroy land and they couldn’t grow crops or survive on the land. The white people made them survive in small groups in central and northern Australia.
3. The stolen generation is that white people kidnapped colored aboriginals and made them stay in orphanages to make them act civilized instead of their traditional ways this happened between the 1910- 1971. They lost their identity; they suffered abuse, and suffering. This can affect you your entire life by scaring you for life by taking you away from your family and your culture and making you conform to a different culture. 4. They are still feeling discriminated against I suppose, but they only got a formal apology like 3 years ago from the prime minster of Australia. This apology should have been giving to the aboriginal people way earlier than 2008. They feel like someone has taken away all their hope when they were colonized by the whites and how the whites stole their children they felt empty and afraid.
5. An official apology needs to be made so the aboriginals don’t feel offended and start war over the wrong doing of the white people. It was not right for the white people to take the sacred land of the aboriginals. The aboriginals were in Australia first and the white men didn’t have any right to take the land away from them.
