The cane toad is native to South America. They were introduced in 1955, they move in short rapids hops and sit up right. They are usually inactive during the day and active at night. When a Predator attacks the cane toad or bites them they will realease a milky white poison. Their diet consists of mostly insects, and will ingest any animal they can like small lizards, frogs, fish, birds, mice, bees and worms. The cane toad usually breeds between the months of april to september; female toads can conceive 8,000 to 35,000. They made their way to Ausrtalia by South Americans and they are primarily found in Queensland. The problems the cane toads are causing are that they can poison humans and or pets. The people have tried many methods in triying to fix the cane toad problem by spreading a virus to the toads but it didn't work because the virus could kill some not poionus toads and other species.

The species I chose that is an invasive species to America is the Lady-Bug. The problems the Lady-Bug is causing is that it is endangering plant life. The way some people are fixing the problem is that they are bringing in other species like the C-7 which is a yellow lady- bug and it is native to Asia and Europe to kill off the lady bug and control its overpopulation to save the plants. We should be concernd with invasive species because they may not look harful but they are. We just dont know how dangerous they are to the environment. Even in America we have invasive species like insects who endager plants. Like in Australia with their Rabbit problem. In their country the rabbits are over populating there country and eating up all of their plants. And too like them. we have brought in other species to get rid of the invasive population of some of the insects.
